On May 27, GreenHUB, an ambitious cross-border project aimed at creating a Center of Excellence in Circular Economy, was presented at the Laborat\u00f3rio da Paisagem in Guimar\u00e3es. The initiative seeks to strengthen the competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability of the Euroregion.<\/p>\n

Promoted in partnership with the Centro Tecnol\u00f3gico de Automoci\u00f3n de Galicia (CTAG), the Axencia Galega da Industria Forestal (XERA), and the Instituto Enerx\u00e9tico de Galicia (INEGA), entities integrated within the Xunta de Galicia, GreenHUB aims to consolidate an ecosystem of scientific, technological, and business innovation based on the sustainable valorization of natural resources, industrial waste, and post-consumer materials. The initiative involves an investment of \u20ac1.1 million, co-financed by the Interreg POCTEP community programme.<\/p>\n

The session brought together institutional representatives, scientific entities, technological centers, companies, and public bodies from Portugal and Galicia, reinforcing strategic cross-border cooperation. During the project presentation, several collaborative circularity solutions developed by companies, technological centers, and entities from the Euroregion\u2019s scientific system were showcased. These solutions are focused on the development of sustainable, high value-added products with international market potential.<\/p>\n

GreenHUB also aims to strengthen the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge through the promotion of advanced training, the development of master\u2019s and doctoral programmes, the production of scientific articles, and the intensification of international cooperation, contributing to greater European visibility for the northwestern Iberian Peninsula in the field of circular economy.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Bruno Pereira da Silva, Director of Public Affairs and Sustainability at PIEP and project coordinator, highlighted that \u201cGreenHUB represents a strategic vision to transform knowledge into innovation, innovation into competitiveness, and competitiveness into sustainable economic and social development for the Euroregion.\u201d<\/p>\n
